Tenuta San Pietro is located in Tassarolo (Piedmont), one of the 11 municipalities that produce Gavi DOCG. The name derives from the small church of the Benedictine convent that was located here, as early as the 11th century, called San Pietro.
Tenuta San Pietro is a historic organic wine-growing company in the GAVI D.O.C.G.
The property covers a total area of 100 hectares of which 35 are mainly planted with Cortese di Gavi and a small part with native black grape varieties (Albarossa, Barbera, Nibio) and Cabernet Sauvignon for the production of Monferrato DOC Rosso, Chardonnay which we use for the production of sparkling wines; the remaining part is occupied by meadows and oak and acacia woods that protect numerous species of wild animals.
