Once upon a time, a farmer had the dream in his heart to make people fall in love with the unmistakable taste of the "Tonda Gentile delle Langhe" hazelnut.
That’s how the great-great-grandfather of the Quazzo family started cultivating the first hazelnut plants in 1891. Since then, the Quazzo farm has engaged in this mission exclusively on the territory of the Piedmontese Langhe.
The location of the farm is in the CRU hazelnut area, which describes the starting point of a guaranteed high-quality product: Somano, Feisoglio, Monforte d'Alba, Niella Belbo and Dogliani are the villages in Alta Langa where the company has planted the ancient "cultivars" of the hazelnut, selected over the years, on a total area that today exceeds 40 hectares.
Features of their hazelnut groves are the exposure of their fields, the farming experience and the choice of facilities surrounded by nature, away from busy roads.
For five generations, the same passion was handed down from father to son, together with the techniques and wisdom of sustainable hazelnut cultivation, skilfully refined and adapted to our times: today, the company offers the same products that have accompanied this territory throughout the years.

Enjoy this hazelnut-rich and gluten-free cake at the end of a meal or during tea time. Exquisite on its own, it can be served with whipped cream but best expresses its flavour when served with zabaione.

But be warned, these hazelnuts may cause addiction, as they are delicious and their use in the kitchen is sheer endless: Cold or hot dishes? Sweet or salty preparation?
