Meet the producer

"Pausa Cafè" is a social cooperative that offers social and working reintegration to inmates of Italian prisons.

They buy their coffee directly from Central America, working alongside indigenous coffee-producing communities that have historically been excluded from the benefits of their work.

The coffee is imported directly, without intermediaries, and is certified by Slow Food with the "Terre Alte di Huehuetenango" Presidium.

The inmates of the Torino prison, supported by Italian coffee roasting experts, roast their coffee in a wood-fired oven.

Furthermore, other Piedmontese jails are part of the "Pausa Cafè" network: in the Saluzzo prison inmates brew artisanal beers, while in the Alessandria prison inmates make baked products with organic flour and sourdough.

The perfect match

"Pausa Cafè" coffees create gourmet blends of high organoleptic quality, capable of providing a truly exceptional morning cup.

Craft beers of the main brassic styles are excellent over the aperitivo time if paired with baked goods such as bread and breadsticks (also made by "Pausa Cafè") and a selection of cured meats.
