"'L Garbin" farm is located in Chiomonte, an area where the "Valsusa DOC" wine finds its highest expression.
Founded in 2006 with the desire to recover the ancient family tradition of vineyard cultivation, "'L Garbin" works its estate vineyards by hand, and the "Vigna Veja" can only be reached on foot, following mule tracks and climbing steps built into the dry stone walls.
This is why we speak of "heroic viticulture" in this region.
Here, the autochthonous vines are ancient and thanks to the work of small producers like "'L Garbin", they have been saved from extinction.
"Baratuciat", a white grape, as well as "Avanà" and "Becuet", red grapes are some examples.
Aside from wine, "'L Garbin" also produces mountain honey, "ZafferanoValsusa®" saffron and cultivates the once-present olive tree.
"Baratuciat" is a fresh, mineral white wine that goes well with saffron risotto, made with the organic saffron grown by "'L Garbin".
Reds wines such as "Vigna Veja" and "'L Garbin" are best served with a board of mixed cheese and honey produces by the farm itself.
