"Cantina dei Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema", founded in 1960 by a group of 10 farmers all resident in the village, has developed into the most qualified point for the production and sale of "Carema" wine.
"Cantina dei Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema" is a cooperative of members, all part-time producers, with an average age of about 55 years.
Through its excellent product, they intend to safeguard and to enhance the oenological culture of the Carema area.
Here, the so-called "heroic viticulture" is practised, as the pergola vines are cultivated on terraces and supported by the characteristic "Pilun" (pillars) made of stone and lime.
"Carema DOC" wine is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes grown exclusively in the area.
"Carema DOC" is a Piedmontese red wine of great importance and refinement, made from Nebbiolo grapes aged in wooden barrels from 12 to 36 months (depending on the label).
This wine is excellent with main courses of meat or braised meat, polenta and wild boar or mature cheese.
