"Canone Occidentale" is the new Vermouth di Torino Superiore created by the Rodia family in the historic centre of Torino.
Every litre begins with 100 % Piedmont-grown wine (Langhe DOC Dolcetto for the Rosso and Piemonte DOC Cortese for the Bianco and Extra Dry), then macerates with locally cultivated or foraged botanicals, including three varieties of Artemisia (Absintium, Pontica, Vallesiaca) and other regional herbs such as Salvia Sclarea, Hyssopus Officinalis, and Centaurea Benedicta.
By sourcing all ingredients within the region, the brand exceeds the legal requirements for the "Superiore" designation and pays homage to the city’s role as the cradle of vermouth.
Each expression is linked to an iconic Torino landmark (Porta Palazzo for the "Rosso", Quadrilatero Romano for the "Bianco", and Parco del Valentino for the "Extra Dry"), underlining the producers’ aim to bottle a new classic that bridges tradition and modern mixology.
Rosso: Robust cocoa-and-hazelnut depth elevates a classic Negroni, glazes braised beef cheeks, and pairs seamlessly with aged blue cheeses.
Bianco: Floral mint-and-lavender notes brighten a Spritz or Gin & It, complement citrus-cured sea bass, and balance soft goat cheese crostini.
Extra Dry: A crisp chamomile-and-elderflower profile delivers a razor-sharp Martini, cuts through fresh oysters, and refreshes grilled asparagus with a hint of lemon zest.
